KSMoCA Opening

MUDLAND is working with early childhood educator Angela Molloy Murphy and teacher Kris’ group of Pre-Kindergarten students at King Elementary School developing designs for their own playground pieces. The children have been working with clay to explore ideas of what a playful landscape design could be. The kids are so imaginative and full of ideas! We hope to raise funds to fabricate their final design into a piece that will be installed on the King School playground.

The Pre-Kindergarten students' work will be shown concurrently with the opening of a KSMoCA exhibition of work by Laylah Ali.

KSMOCA is a program set up with PSU students at Martin Luther King Jr. elementary school in Portland to run a contemporary art museum out of a grade school. Students at King get the chance to learn about professional art practices and create art, curate shows and work as docents.
